This building was constructed by the Pancrazi family, a noble house of Barga related to that of Gonzaga, in the second half of the 16th century. In 1807 the building was purchased by the Barga municipality and today it houses the town hall.
The building's façade is divided into three horizontal sections and the first floor windows are surrounded by diamond-shaped sandstone.Over the front door you can see the coat of arms of the municipality of Barga: a sailing boat, while in the corner facing the square there is the Medici coat-of-arms in white marble stone with the characteristic six spheres in an oval.
